Ash Tree & Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Management

The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Commission adopted the City's Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Management Plan in October 2020.

In 2023, from funds received from a DNR Urban Forestry Grant, the Forestry Department has acquired the services of Great Lakes Urban Forestry Management, a private tree care consulting firm to create an Urban Forestry Management Plan, part of which will include an updated EAB Management Plan. This new plan, like the current plan, will utilize an integrated approach of insecticide treatments and systematic removal of declining Ash trees.
