The City of Sun Prairie's park and open space system consists of over 400 acres of parkland. The City's park system includes a full range of developed facilities including neighborhood parks, community parks, citywide parks and special use areas located throughout the community.
The City's current park inventory includes:
- 32 neighborhood parks. Most neighborhood parks provide basic recreation facilities such as play structures, benches, basketball standards and open play areas.
- 10 community parks. Community parks serve residential areas within a half-mile radius and may include athletic fields, shelter houses, basketball courts, pedestrian/bicycle paths and parking lots.
- 4 special use areas. Cannery Square, Family Aquatic Center, Pet Exercise Area, and the Sun Prairie Historical Museum.
