Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry has a variety of facilities available to reserve.

Private Party Reservations

Looking to host a private event using a Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department facility? All reservation requests must be made online or in-person. Please read the information below for more details.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:  All facility cancellation requests must be received in writing a minimum of ten (10) days prior to the reservation date to receive a refund. No refunds will be given with less than ten (10) days’ notice. There will be a $20 withdrawal fee deducted from any refunds. Reservations that cost $20 or less are non-refundable. Full refunds are issued if Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry cancels a reservation. Credits on account are available upon request and are still subject to a $20 withdrawal fee.  To request a cancellation, please email rec@cityofsunprairie.com.

Expiration of Credits: All account credits will expire on December 31 of the current calendar year. Any unused credits will automatically be removed from your account at the end of the year and will be donated to our scholarship fund. We encourage you to use your credits before this date to maximize their value. Please note that account credits cannot be refunded or returned to the original form of payment. Once the credits are added to your account, they can only be used for future purchases or services, prior to December 31 of the current calendar year, and cannot be converted back into cash or refunded. 

Park Shelter and Gazebo Reservations

Park shelters and gazebos are available for private rentals from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm beginning May 1 through September 30 each year, with the exception of the Wetmore East Shelter. Fees are based on the shelter type as well as resident status.

Wetmore Park East Shelter

The Wetmore Park East Shelter is available to reserve from March through December each year. All reservations include the outdoor patio space and indoor serving kitchen and gathering space. The indoor space holds up to 40 people without tables and 25 people with tables.  Reservation requests are only accepted a maximum of 90 days in advance and are available to request starting at 8:00 am 90 days prior to your event date. Reservation includes the following amenities:

  • Two TV screens & HDMI input
  • 6 foot rectangular tables 
  • Folding chairs (48 total available)
  • Access to refrigerator
  • Serving kitchen countertop space
  • Facility attendant on-site (for a majority of the duration of the rental)

Westside Community Services Building Reservations

The Westside Community Services Building (WCSB) is located at 2598 West Main Street, Sun Prairie.  Located just off Highway 151, the WCSB is an affordable and accessible option for your next private event!  The building's large community room, a smaller breakout session room and conference room are available for private reservations.  Reservation requests are only accepted a maximum of 90 days in advance and are available to request starting at 8:00 am 90 days prior to your event date. Please note:  Only one private reservation per weekend will be accepted. 

WCSB may only be reserved on the following schedule, and will not be reserved for two or more consecutive days in a weekend:

  • HALF DAY: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm or 3:00 - 9:00 pm
  • FULL DAY: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm

Athletic Field/Sport Court Reservations

A variety of outdoor recreation facilities are available to reserve for private use. If you are interested in hosting a tournament or public event, please see below for Public/Community Event Reservations. Please note: We do not reserve pickleball courts for hourly private use.

Tournament use at the Wyndham Hills Pickleball Complex is limited to two non-SPPRF sponsored tournaments annually.

Private Pool Reservations

Are you looking for a great place to have your summer picnic, sports organization party, customer appreciation night or family fun night?  Look no further than than Sun Prairie Family Aquatic Center!

The Family Aquatic Center is available to rent for private group use on Saturday and Sunday evenings during the summer season. Rentals are 2 hours in length, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Concession stand is not available during private rentals, however, the Concessions seating area is open and available for private parties. Please note: We only accept one private reservation per weekend..

Public/Community Event Reservations

Looking to hold a public event in a park owned and maintained by the City of Sun Prairie?  

The City of Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department has a clear process to help you host public events in our city parks.

A public event is defined as an event which is open to or invites the general public to engage, inform, or entertain a wide audience. These events include but are not limited to festivals, fairs, concerts, tournaments, etc. taking place in parks that are owned and/or managed by the City of Sun Prairie. Examples of an event being open to or where the general public is invited include posted signs, commercials, newspaper, social media, announcement, verbal exchange of information, or any other means of publicly announcing the event. Events are considered public whether or not there is an admission fee and regardless of size.

Examples of public events include, but are not limited to: Festivals, Concerts, Community Gatherings, Tournaments, etc.
