Frequently Asked Questions:
What destinations will be included on the signs?
We received a number of suggestions for locations that should be included on our signs. The final destinations will include a combination of Parks and Recreation Facilities, the Library, Downtown, Prairie Lakes, other commercial areas, and the High Schools.
Will the signs include mileage and the time to ride to destinations?
Yes! We will be including mileage and ride time for a number of destinations across the City.
What will the signs look like?
The final design aesthetics have not been decided yet. Further engagement with the Transit Commission and Bike Subcommittee will lead us to a recommendation on the signage aesthetic.

Background
The City of Sun Prairie has been awarded a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant to construct a network of bicycle wayfinding signs across Sun Prairie. This grant will help install wayfinding signs designed with bicyclists in mind. The "Sun Prairie Loop" which connects the City's numerous greenway paths, road and also other shared use paths in Sun Prairie, was included as part of the Active Transportation Plan adopted in 2023.

Proposed Wayfinding Sign Locations, Sharrows, and Green Painted Crosswalks
Follow the purple dashes as the "Sun Prairie Loop" winds its way around Sun Prairie's most scenic trails. Wayfinding signage on shared use paths around the City help riders navigate to and from the loop and also to other places in Sun Prairie.
